I wish they would rerelease the first Marvel Bishoujo figures: Rogue, Psylocke, Emma Frost, and Scarlet Witch. If they do get reissued, I hope they get scaled up to match the other Bishoujo figures. I like to display figures next to each other, but it’s pretty jarring to see figures that are clearly not in the same scale. These figures are labelled as 1:8, but they’re actually 1:10. The ones that are labelled as 1:7, I would consider to actually be 1:8.
Here are some pictures for comparison. The initial Marvel Bishoujos are placed next to their ARTFX+ counterparts, which are labelled as 1:10 (keep in mind that the Bishoujos are labelled as 1:8, despite the fact they are the same size).
Of course, there are some characters that are naturally short or naturally tall (for example, Jubilee and She-Hulk, respectively). The statues don’t all have to be the exact same height, but it would be nice if they were all proportional to one another. It would make for a more visually appealing display.
In this picture you can see the vast difference between Emma Frost and Wonder Woman.
In this picture, you’ll see that even though Ms. Marvel is a naturally short character (5’2” in the comics), she is clearly larger than Scarlet Witch. This is because Ms. Marvel is in a larger scale.
The height difference between Jubilee and She-Hulk is vast, but they are proportional to each other. If Jubilee and She-Hulk were to stand next to each other in the comics or movies, there would be a clear height difference. Jubilee is 5’5” and She-Hulk is 6’7”. I would hope there’d be a height difference. This is what I mean by keeping the characters in the same scale and proportional to one another.
I would also appreciate it if they could reissue Batgirl and fix her scaling issue. When I first took Batgirl out of the box, I realized that she looked smaller than other Bishoujo figures, despite being taller than the first releases. After placing her next to Batwoman, I realized that Batgirl’s torso is a lot smaller than it should be, and her head is also small. It’s as if her upper half was made in 1:10 scale, and her lower half was in 1:8.
