I usually bake my pieces on either a glass plate or a ceramic dish of some kind. I think anything metal would heat up too much and burn the sculpt sitting on it.

Im not 100% sure on this one. If it was me I'd probably remove/resculpt the burned areas just so I wouldnt have to worry about them as I move forward with the sculpt. Especially if its in areas that will be on the outside with detail.
I think they could only potentially be left in if your sculpting more over top of the burned areas. But like I said, Im not sure
