Yeah, that is crap. Myself and my kids grew up on Scooby Doo. That is NOT how they should be. At that point, they aren't even "meddling kids" anymore. And the phrase "And I would have gotten away with it if it wasn't for those weapon toting hipsters" just doesn't do it for me.
I am trying to imagine Shaggy in a tattoo chair. I don't think he would even make it through the image transfer part!

I loved Scooby Doo growing up and just like Joe I still enjoy watching it when I come across it on TV. But in regards to this comic, that's not SD to me, and I don't give two hoots about it.
I see all of this kind of stuff like when a great song is covered by someone other than the original artist. Sometimes you'll get a great cover, but usually you won't. But the bottom line is that neither can touch the original. I mean they can exist together but one really has nothing to do with the other as far as I'm concerned. Make all the covers, remakes, reboots, re-imaginings of whatever I like, I really don't care because I'll still have the originals and that's all I need.

When I heard this story originally, this was simply a non-story for me as I have zero interest in the first place.

well for one thing, it's a little hard to read a book that is not even printed yet.
And I guess I am not allowed to express my opinion on a character that I grew up with and still watch on tv? Hmmm...must have missed that rules section on Statueforum.

Darwyn Cooke is awesome. He's treating this image with the save reverence he gave Will Eisner's The Spirit.

Alright I'll just back away and let the old guard have their moment to complain. Should've learned by now that change = bad (regardless if you were buying or not)

Not me, sir. Waid's hitting home-runs w/ the new archie, I've been saying so in numerous threads. It all started back in the Archie elseworlds "Archie Marries Veronica" & followed thru with Archie/Zombies & the new Sabrina. I'm fine with the updates as long as the writer respects & pays homage to what has come before. Waid & Roberto Aguirre-Sacasa have totally tipped their hats to the "history" of Archie; that's all I ask. & like I've said ... "If it blows" I won't drop the dough. I don't spend money all the time now w/ Marvel & DC.
