About halfway through this volume, and it's off to a slow start. I'm a fan of both Scott Hampton and Chris Weston, so I'm loving the art, but the writing is not what I thought it'd be.

Mike Carey's not the best writer.

I want to get it mainly because of Stelfreeze but let me know about the writing, just read that is going to be Ta-Nehisi Coates first work in Comics.

It's light on action and more about laying the foundation for the rest of the series. The art and design is amazing which is no surprise.

I'll wait then to # 2 to find out where the story is going.
I'm pretty sure Stelfreeze is going to draw only the first arc(of 3, 4 or 6)

Well, Morrison did it again.
The thing that really frustrated me is that this guy had like 5 years(at least) to came up with a solid good story no matter the scale-simple or epic- nor the themes of it, instead he presents a 'story'/a series of events based on....stereotypes(the most benevolent word I can use) that not even the art of Paquette(too much 'fan service' at times) can save this.
