Yeah that was ridiculous. I read reviews in late 2007 but didn't get to watch the movie for another two years.
Though Legendary also financially backed the film, WB just didn't care and dumped it directly to DVD/Blu-Ray.
But now that Legendary is partnered with Universal, this will get proper marketing with theatrical release and that goes for the Trick 'r Treat sequel as well.
