2018 Major League Baseball Postseason

What are your predictions?

American League:

National League:

I don't see any team getting past Boston.

I think Milwaukee gets to the World Series in the National League.
Beating Rockies and Braves. To get there. National league is all about who's hot now. No one has been consistently better than the other.

American League is a lot tougher...much better teams and more evenly matched..
I can see any team making it and not be surprised they did. Right now 2 hottest teams are Yanks and Houston..just in past 2 weeks. So I would probably go with one of them in the Series.

No matter who, American League in 5-6 no game 7 this year.

Weren't the Cubs in first place in the NL central division for a long time? To get booted from the playoffs this quickly isn't right.

Likewise in the American League, it would be a huge letdown if a 100-win team like the Yankees is eliminated after one game.

I went to a general store. They wouldn't let me buy anything specifically.

The baseball fan in me wants a Brewer/A's series.

The betting man in me says Boston/LA

I for one am not a fan of the Wildcards 1 and Done format. To me it should be a 3 game set.

But let's all be realistic, the playoff format in most sports are a joke. How can a team like Oakland be playing the Yankees for the wild card? When the Indians had 91 wins?! Oakland should have been home playing Cleveland.

Yes I know the win your division and your in thing is there, but it needs to be changed.
Cleveland plays in a terrible division, so they get rewarded by playing underwhelming teams? Yet teams like Oakland, Tampa and Seattle struggle and claw there way to the top..
Cleveland had 91 wins, Tampa 90 and Seattle 89. Yet both Tampa and Seattle were in 3rd place in their respective division. How did Cleveland's division stack up? Let's see..... Minnesota came in 2nd with 78 wins, and Detroit was in 3rd with 64 wins.
Sorry that just don't cut it for me.

To me easy fix for now is 4 plays 5 in Wildcard as far as record goes, even if you win your division. Winner of Wildcard game then plays team with best Record overall.

This way a team like the Yanks , Oakland or whoever it may be are not in the wild card when they have better records than a division winner. Win your division, well good for you playoffs clinched - but have less wins then every other team...Wildcard for you.

After their great wild card win, the Rockies got swept out of the playoffs pretty quickly, scoring only two runs in three games. Brewers look like the NL team to beat this year.

I never thought the Yankees could contain Boston's offense and that notion was only reinforced after last night's beatdown. Shameful.

I went to a concert last night and by the time I got home, the Yankees/Red Sox game was over--which is fine with me. Watching the Red Sox celebrate a second time at Yankee Stadium this year would have been brutal. GO ASTROS.
