HCG Bionic Commando (?)

My friend found and wants to get this.

Quickly looking around, all I see are people that are selling, are say releasing around Mar 2019.

Looking around more...
I see original dates in the 2015.
I cant find anything in HCGs Bionic Commando section.
I found an ebay listing stating the statue never actually got made.

I look and could not find anything here or other forums.
What is the deal with this piece? Anyone have anything?

I am thinking if we just order from amazon, it might not come due to not be actually produced, but we should be fine with getting a refund if that is the case.

Is it coming out?
Has it not actually been produced?

Massive BC fan. I think we've talked about it before...

I don't have anything concrete on it, but I followed this piece sporadically for years. Would check HCGs page, but would never buy because of the ugly dreadlocked portrait (and I even liked the 3rd person game...). I last checked not that long ago. It does makes sense that it was never released, as the date kept getting pushed, iirc.

My guess is it was so poorly received, even by BC fans, that it was ultimately canceled. Hopefully they redesign it, with a classic red-haired COH. Instant purchase then.

Well...my friend now owns a 1 of 1 proto of Bionic Commando.

May bad if we talked about this before. My friend even said, "yea, i showed it to you a few months ago". I didnt even recall.

Haha...no big deal man. I think it only came up because I asked about your avatar, which you said wasn't necessarily(?) because of GRIN.

Congrats for your friend. He's actually a fan of the dreadlocked portrait eh? Let me know if he saws off the head and commissions a classic portrait!

I'm pretty sure this was based on the marvel 3 line which was subsequently cancelled after the two paired 1/4 sets of ryu akuma doom and wolverine. If i recall HCG said they were doing Commando as a pair alongside Frank West, but Frank never happened

It's moot now, but, I don't think it was. At least, it was never under the MvC section of their site, like the others. It was always under 'Bionic Commando'. If it was ever supposed to be paired with Frank West, that must have changed very early on.

Still shaking my head regarding the characters they actually chose for the MvC line. Horrible renditions of re-treads...
