That is an amazing piece in all three stages. This will be a challenge to frame. I think the problem is how you want it displayed. If you want to show the progression you would go from left to right of pencil to ink to color. But, the problem is the color piece really draws the eye and that would look unbalanced. I would tend to want the color piece in the center but then it doesn't show the progression as nicely. Tough choice.

As for matte and frame I would go with a blue top matte and black bottom with either a blue or black frame. I like the blue because it matches with the color in Thor's clothing and matches with the other colors well and should look good with the pencil and ink versions. You might consider triple matting if you want more colors since I would expect this to be a centerpiece of your display, then you could do a yellow as a middle layer. No matter the choice it should look awesome when done.
