Is that a bad thing or a good thing? lol If a bad thing, which I'm guessing you're saying here, I must respectfully disagree with that comparison. Forever is so, so in my book. Too silly & wrong actors playing the characters they are assigned to. Tommy Lee Jones as Two-Face? Nope! Amazing Spidey 2 way better film. Is it perfect? Nope. Even I had some issues with the film, but it's WAY better than Forever.

Thanks--I have seen these clips before. The fact that the movie studios continue to NOT use that and instead gave us essentially Eddie from the 80s Fright Night this time leads me to the sad conclusion that we'll never see a decent Green Goblin ever.

Your damn right HB I can't believe they didn't use that. what the hell were they thinking?

oh well. I'm sitting here in the digital 3D RPX theater getting ready to see Amazing Spider Man 2 .
it's killah I'm the only one in the theater l.
Gotta love these early morning matinees :-)

best part its only costing me 4 bucks to see it due to the $10 coupon I got when I bought Marvel confidential.

As cool as that Green Goblin looks, it wouldn't suit the more realistic tone the movies are going for. Just wouldn't seem plausible for a man to turn into something like that. Really impressive though, don't think I've seen a make up/animatronic hybrid. Must be a b!tch to be the dude wearing that though..

This is exactly what I thought - some performances were good (Garfield and Stone) and there were a few good action scenes - but most of it was too silly

.....and yet, a man turning into a nine foot tall lizard is entirely plausible in this realistically toned world?

Not sure where the line would be then.

I went in to this one with extremely low expectations and I'm glad I did. This movie is what I like to call "shiny garbage" It's a visual feast for the eyes but I couldn't shake the feeling that they had 10 year olds in mind as their primary audience. I get this is Spiderman after all, but as past Marvel have shown it's completely doable to create a serious movie with an engaging story but with enough charm to appeal to a younger audience. This one however just felt like a sloppy mess with a shiny coat of polish over it.

5/10, definitely a rental but by no means worthy of going to the theater to see. If the mish mosh of villains in this is any indication of where this series is headed I expect the Sinister Six movie to be the X-Men 3/original Spiderman 3 of this trilogy.....complete and total garbage.
