wow, 50-50 split right now. I think I would have to go with Star Wars. Like them both but I think Star Wars has a bit of an edge.

I was thinking the same thing. I figured Star Wars would run away with the votes but that's definitely not the case.

Depends what one appreciates more perhaps.
One is mostly science fiction and the other far more fantasy or "space opera".

I enjoy both, I collect things from both. I also reject some things from both.
But classic Trek was there from the beginning for me, and I followed most of the series. Perhaps age is a factor as well.

Also one was readily available on TV live action for many decades with hundreds of hours of broadcast and reruns forever. Star Wars is primarliy six films, about 12 hours of material.

Exactly, as a franchise I'd take Trek over SW anytime, there's just so much more quality. Besides the original trilogy, I'm not interested in anything else SW.
