Sadly the words on the base are the only thing that may keep me from dishing out the few hundred bucks for this piece.  . Sad.

I agree, I don't like the base. It isn't the nameplate or flames, but just the bulk of it.

Yes. The statue is already up for preorder and Sideshow isn't know for changing those kinds of design elements after it has been solicited for preorders.

That’s a shame. As a big time J Scott Campbell Fan....., I will still have to let this item go as I will not add it to my collection. . Sad day.

I’m a diehard JSC fan as well ...and that base is not going to sway me from getting this Abbey Chase statue.
The statue itself is stunning!

I personally think it was a good design choice if Abbey does end up the centerpiece of the line (  ), just so long as the other girls don't also have name plates, as that would look busy as hell. I'm sure many spouses will appreciate knowing the sexy lady statue set we're ordering comes from an actual comic property. The only thing saving Aspen in that regard is they might think the seahorse is cute.
