Invisible Man 2020 (6/10) MEH
The Lodge 8/10 This is very different from anything I have seen before and different is better. Good story, good scares, satisfying ending.

Sleepy Hollow (1999) - Ichabod Crane is sent to Sleepy Hollow to investigate the decapitations of three people, with the culprit being the legendary apparition, The Headless Horseman.
There was a time when Tim Burton would almost always deliver enjoyable films with a balance of macabre fun and heart and Sleepy Hollow is one of those winners. 8/10

I agree with Invisible Man...that was way too much story about her for me. I have the lodge ready to watch so that is good to know!

i'd rate it higher, but i agree the Gillman and Werewolf designs were such amazing updates to the classic looks.

True Grit (2010)
While the movie failed to blow me away (i had very high expectations, probably too high) i would rate it among the top Westerns i have seen. Not that i am a massive fan of Westerns.

I thought it was far less than meh. Here is this super rich genius who created this ultimate stealth device for the military and he wastes it by spying on this girl? How would an unemployed artist even meet a guy like this? They wouldn't hang out in the same circles at all. Also, she was so uninteresting as a character, it makes us wonder what he ever saw in her to begin with. I left the movie thinking this was just more man-bashing porn for the brainless masses who seem to get off on that sort of thing. Delightful sign of the times.
