Domino EX PF arrived today. It looks super!
The statue looks great. The factory appears to have managed to achieve a sharp casting, on both
body, portrait/hair, with zero signs of the dreaded graining. For the most part the body is black.
Skin tone on the portrait looks bluer than I expected it to be, but it works. No shots of the EX
portrait, as her right eye was off. Hopefully Sideshow can sort out a replacement.
The base looks great. The factory appears to have managed to replicate the gold coins to prototype
perfection. I had concerns this might have not have been possible. The coins do not appear to be
made of resign. If i tap the coins with my finger nails, they appear to be a form of hollow plastic.
Compared to the statue, the base feels light in weight. The bandit looks good. I’m not sure how
they achieved the ‘DAYS OF FUTURE CASH’ art other than creating a custom decal. It is good to see
they didn’t use a sticker. One area the bandit could have looked better, are the yellow buttons.
Clear plastic buttons would have looked better, but I am not complaining. The circular black base
below the coins sounds hollow, and cheapens the piece slightly, as the black surface shines. The
base is fitted with black sponge feet of varying depths presumably to stop the base rocking, implying
the hollow base(s) probably suffered from warping. I can only assume the base weight reduction
design was implemented to save costs in materials and shipping expenses.
