Regardless, of what we consider it, it's one of the most common things that JML draws Dawn clothed in, besides her more full body armored outfits.
But hey, if you aren't feeling it, to each their own. I think she looks gorgeous, and I'm definitely planning on ordering.

If it was a corset, I wish it would be more structured. I like it when corsets have boning and a stiff, pulled-in shape to them. This looks just like a leotard/swimsuit to me.
I like the statue, I just wish the green variant would have been more based on her green armor outfit. That is what most of us want/wanted.
I actually like the original better than this one. The original had so much more detail on it. I love Dawn's outfits in the comics, they are layered and not as simple as this variant.
(I am going to assume that Clay and Linsner went this route, so it could be displayed with the Dark Ivory variant.)
I would have liked something more like this, if the corset/cincher was going to be the appeal of the piece.

Tomatoe, tomatoe.
Corset, bodice, swimsuit, leotard, girdle, cincher, whatever.
The point is, that while some people may not have wanted this specific look for this statue, this is VERY Dawn.
I could find and post a ton of pictures of Dawn wearing all sorts of variations of this statue's look.

The only thing I would like clarification on is this (taken from the CS Moore website)
"Scheduled to ship August 2013"
but then it also says,
"Limited Edition - Edition size will be based on orders placed by November 1"
This confuses me.

The two versions of Dawn side by side:
Dawn 20th Anniversary statue
Dawn emerald variant:
Both look good; the only thing is that due to the variant edition I can now clearly see that Dawn is standing in an unusual stance (right leg crossed behind left leg). Why would she do that?

LOL!
True, that is as Master Yoda would say...
The more I look at the original and the variant the harder I find it to choose...
I like the roses on Dawn's right boot on the variant statue just like the barbwire and the ram's head on the base.
Furthermore I like the key/lock Dawn is holding in her right hand.
But on the other hand I like the face better on the original version as well as the sculpture of Dawn's body. (Stance, clothes)
I would really like to add Dawn to my collection one day but realize I will have to make a hard choice first...

the Swimsuit variant is a very sexy statue as all of his are. i LOVE the hair and head on this one but to me her and the new Magdalena are trying to hard to be sexy.
