I went to a general store. They wouldn't let me buy anything specifically.

I'm okay with or without a cape, but my preference for cape would likely be half-length. The less of Erick's tremendous physique that gets obscured the better.

If Koto is going with the idea of "Classic" Avengers, it's likely without.

Now if only we can get a grey costume Black Widow.

I'd prefer it with a cape, whether it's the old school look or the gold-adorned costume pictured above. A capeless Black Panther can look a bit overly simple, which is my problem with the classic Bowen Museum statue.

I'm not 100% sure if this will be Erick's work? Just because there have been other kotobukiya fine art statues that weren't.

Take for instance cable and nova..so it could be erick or another person?

I don't see any reason for erick not to sculpt this unless he's leaving koto. And I believe I read somewhere here that he will be with koto for a long time. Why have him if they will just have another sculptor sculpt instead of him unless erick is sculpting something for koto we don't now yet or he's there as a consultant? Hmm.. I hope erick sculpts this

I don't care about the cape. Avengers Classic Line all the way.

Yeah I think a cape adds a lot to this character so I would be disappointed if he does not come with one. I will probably still get this though either way because I need a black panther!

I wanted to chime in to clarify a few things about this project:
  • Black Panther will be sculpted by Erick Sosa.
  • We are exploring how to integrate a "soft-goods" cape with some type of wire frame inside it so it can be slightly posed.
  • This piece is being designed as a stand-alone release with a unique Wakanda environmental base.
  • The artwork shown during my panel was used for illustrative purposes only.
  • We are aiming to unveil this statue during SDCC.
Now my question to the forum - Does the ideal of a poseable, soft goods cape sound appealing or not? Also should the cape be permanently attached or removable?

Yes!! It sounds amazing Gonk!
I love that he will have his own enviorment.

Does it sound appealing? Hell yeah!
Well it depends on how it would look if you were able to attach and detach it but I think if you could make it look good then the option to display him with and without a cape would be awesome.

Thanks for the info and this will be a definite buy for me.
