When he was created this was the fashion of strongman of the era. Extra layer of clothes added protection if one should rip their pants in a squat.

I live his classic look for color balance.

Correct on the historical strongman reference.

And I totally agree, and have felt this way always, regarding the color balance his red outer shorts give. It’s a more balanced and dynamic look. Lately, he’s just looked too much like he’s moving around in his pajamas. Same with Batman.

Yeah, i have heard of this before. I think they are good for some laughs... i call it the Superman's red panty sometimes But i love Superman with or without his red panty

My favorite is Batman and i even diss Batman and make fun him time to time... I really love them but love to make fun them too. It is tough love... i really laugh when Ennis makes fun of them and stuff... Am i messed up ?

I want a collectible 1:1 framed Red Underpants of Superman. Hear me Sideshow !

Agreed, there's other ways to pull it off though and for some reason the artists who design the costumes simply will not do a two tone suit for these characters.

It's idiotic.
