Did my best last night, feeling tired (it was past midnight), watching Whisper - Red Variant on ebay count down through the final hours.. minutes.. seconds..
I lost. I had placed a couple of bids early on. With minutes remaining, i was the highest bidder. I knew there would lurkers, both human and robot. Sure enough, with 3 seconds remaining i slammed a bid on, hit the confirm button, and failed to complete the task in under 3 seconds (doh!), which was strange.
Once the auction ended, i checked out some details, and it turned out a robot bidder had won, and there appeared to be another bidder who had slammed down a high bid, thus pushing up the price to nearly double the previous price, which hadn't changed for hours. Mr Robo bidder paid a whopping $1250 + p&p
I had a back-up plan. If i loose (which i did) i would embrace Black-Friday and pick up Lucky direct from Gentle Giant for $419.00 which is better than the $1250 some paid for Whisper - Red Variant. I get a new statue, my bank balance is $830 better off
In the future, maybe i will get another chance of obtaining Whisper - Red Variant
