Here are my in hand pics. For sure the hairline is an issue but I found messing up the hair a bit on the mask helped.

Sounds to me the piece will look fine if you put some effort into playing with his hair and ruffling up his outfit, rather than simply taking him out the box and plonking on his base, like you would do with a 100% sculpted piece.

Gotcha, looks like they were going for an old time sepia picture but didn't use enough contrast to really bring out the highlights. That can be fixed.
Otherwise I think this is a win. If I can I'll try to pick this up a little later in the year...too many must haves for me this year lol.
