The Predator - Official Film Thread
First teaser from "The Predator" from Fox and Shane Black via their official FB.

Not much is known about the next PREDATOR movie, except that it won't be a reboot, but an "inventive sequel" that will "reinvent the franchise." Shane Black has been developing the project since 2014 with THE MONSTER SQUAD's Fred Dekker, and the plan is for Black to direct from a script he co-wrote with Dekker.
Yesterday FOX released a teaser image for the fourth installment (sixth if you count the AvsP flicks) on the official PREDATOR Facebook page captioned with "Here we go again, bro." (a play on a Bill Duke line from the original film), and it looks like the movie will be going by the title THE PREDATOR.

Weird that they would use the "Predators" P1 copy for the teaser image. Still, I'm looking forwards to this and hoping for some cool creature designs.

" . . . 20th Century Fox has also scheduled director Shane Black’s The Predator for a release on March 2, 2018, a date it has to itself for now."

Really hope Deadpool shows studios that R's can make more money especially when it makes sense.

I'm really hoping this film offers something different. Big budget events films don't necessarily equal quality storytelling. I'd like to see something a bit more creative than another Predator or Predators systematically hunting prey again.

I'd like to see a Predator film that is about the different predator clans and shows more of the actual society of Predators on their home planet. Also I think the idea of a few predators hunting a grown alien queen in some dark underground environment would be awesome. They could have sterilized her to make sure she can't lay eggs so the whole hunt would just be against her, no warriors, no facehuggers, no chestbursters.
Instead we'll probably get a rehashing of the same story as 1 and 2. A predator comes to earth to hunt and after hunting some men who are no match at all runs into a human that puts up a tough fight, finally killing the predator. They know this formula works so from a "safe" investment standpoint I wouldn't expect anything too different from that.
