Has the image on the right been squashed as the face look thinner. Seeing these two images side by side they don't compare.

Assuming for a moment that this can all be explained by poor angles and lighting, it's a shame that the person who took this picture couldn't take a few moments to take a better shot. Instead, all it serves to accomplish is to potentially and unnecessarily invite anxiety. While I have no interest in this piece, the proto looked incredible. I hope you guys gets something closely resembling that.

That's not fair! As soon as it was known that the statue was shipped calls went out for photos! Someone took time out of their day to provide for those requests, and now the community is going to dump on them for not taking care to ensure the pictures were of a certain quality? Ungrateful much!
Regardless of what anyone thinks about the statue, this was the photo output of a keen and excited forum member. If you want to see top notch promotional photographs head over to the GG website.

Nothing like an attack dog. I'm making an observation as well. The post I'm responding to comes across (to me) as judgemental and ungrateful.
If this attitude towards home photos is allowed to flourish, in future, others (who don't have a degree in photography) may well decide it's not in their best interests to bother to take pictures, which means less "in hand" pictures, and less decision making material for those considering to purchase.

I think we can all agree those who take the time to share are appreciated regardless of the quality of their photos. That being said when you have a group of collectors looking to analyze a particular aspect of a piece and you post pictures without taking the proper measures to insure you're representing it well you're doing it and potential buyers a disservice. Poor photos should be looked at as just that, not more material to help in your decision making process.
If you've been in this game long enough you know it's sensible to wait for high quality photos before forming an opinion. Speaking as a contributor myself, if my photos don't turn out well and they're some of the first to go up, I'll retake them or I simply won't post them. If I did I'd accept the criticism they received.

Just out of interest, can anybody share a link to a thread where a statue that received (almost) universal acclaim for its final production (e.g. GG Baby Doll, SS Batgirl PF or Blitzway's Marilyn Monroe) was photographed particularly badly so as to portray an unfair representation?

Lets get SpecFiction for not taking professional quality pictures of the statue and not having half naked women in the background
If people don't like my pictures, all I can say is..
