Interesting. Mine isn't shipping until September because there are "parts on back order". I ordered the framed version.

You can always place the frame on the wall where the sun doesn't shine on.

I hear you...but that's not always possible. I also like to move the few prints that I have framed around. I would hate to limit my displays due to a particular print not being UV protected.

I went to some storage bin auctions last month and one of the bins someone won had a bunch of framing equipment, including some full cases of Tru Vue Acrylic. I had already spent all of my money on a previous bin so I wasn't able to bid. I was so bummed out. I was literally depressed for like 2 weeks. Actually, I am still depressed I wasn't able to bid. And the bin only sold for $1100. The cases of Tru Vue alone were worth 2-3 times that amount. Thats one auction that will haunt me till the day I die.

I would like to be able to frame my own prints but I am afraid of screwing it up. Also I wouldn't even know were to start. OC, you should do a tutorial on how to frame.

The only thing you can really screw up is the matt board itself. There is no risk to the print itself. So just buy some cheap matt board to practice on. Its so much easier than people think and there are tons of cheap books one can buy that will teach you everything you need to know. Basic matt cutting really is one of the easiest skills in the entire art market.
I am in my busy season right now and I actually just scored one of the biggest jobs of my career yesterday, a 14 day shoot in Dubai for 7 different buildings. I leave on August 10th so I should be back around the 25th. As soon as I get back I will put together a basic tutorial on how to do a basic matt cutting job. thats actually a great idea as once people see just how easy it is, I am betting more people would be willing to give it a go themselves.
If your interested in buying a book, which I highly advice, here are the 2 books I would recommend:
Logan Basic Mat Cutting Book

The Complete Photo Guide to Framing and Displaying Artwork
