Cleaning out a display case today and when I picked up my raptor egg paint began flaking off, looked at the egg closer and noticed paint is cracking all over the piece. Such a disappointment, really poor quality, especially for an item that's just a few years old. I've got sideshow pieces that are almost 10 years old and this is the first piece I own with paint peeling away. Big JP fan but I won't buy from Chronicle again. If there is a silver lining it's that I only paid a couple hundred for it. I plan to share the photos on statue collector groups on social media as well. Maybe I just got a "bad one" but folks deserve to know how these pieces hold up over time. Pics attached

Wow, that looks like bad paint prep or low humidity in your case. I've had a few pieces from other manufactures do that to me also. A Weta one was the worst so far. At least a repaint won't cost much as the finish isn't complicated, but a shame you need to.

That's what I was about to say.

In all seriousness though, there is no way a premium piece only a few years old should crack like that unless housing conditions are bad, and if none of the other pieces in the house have that issue, it must be poor prep/QC on the piece.

It is really disappointing- I like some of Chronicles' pieces, but inconsistent QC or issues with pieces have pretty much guaranteed I won't pre-order from them until they can consistently put out good pieces that have no issues both at release and a few years down the road.

I agree, and as far as where it is stored, we really don't have a problem with lack of humidity here in Houston lol and all of my statues, toys and art prints are displayed in my climate controlled home. In addition, a member of Statue Collectors FB group said he has already done 3 repaints of these for other customers to fix the problem. A member of the JP FB group said this happened to him and that Chronicle sent him a new one free of charge but I feel like unless the replacement was repainted in house it will end up having the same issues. After two poorly executed pieces (Breakout Rex and this egg) I'm not giving Chronicle anymore of my money. I can get my JP fix via Prime1 without the worry of major QC issues.
