Was hanging with my fellow statue collectors these past few days and the topic of no longer having space came up. I mentioned that I to was having these issue and I decided to throw away boxes of piece that I know I am never going to sell off because they are my favorite pieces. The look I got from some of them were as if I said I murdered a child or pet. One friend said he was getting sick just hearing talk about it. So what do you guys think about this issue. If space is limited and storage is full already,do u keep the boxes or get rid of them.

I would keep them, but that is me.

If you are never gonna sell them they must be some nice pieces. Maybe put the boxes on ebay for the high end ones or offer them on the forum as every now and then I read about someone having a flood or a box that got damaged.

You might make some cash, or make a fellow collector very happy.

You say you have pieces that you "know" you would "never" sell...

You are most likely thinking in terms of voluntarily selling things versus having no choice. I've only been buying collectibles for two years and have sold a few pieces here and there to buy other ones. Of course there were a number of statues that I swore I would never sell and I didn't want to, but I got into a financial bind that I had to make a tough choice.

The statues I had appreciated in value enough to the point where I had to make the tough decision to sell. Not because I could, but because I really didn't have a choice.

The point is you should keep the boxes in case you have to sell someday. You may not want to sell the ones you say you would never sell, but you don't know what future might throw at you. Without those boxes you won't get a whole lot for the collectibles.

Keep the boxes - keep the 'foam - throw away something else - like the fridge - or the dishwasher - and put more boxes there...

Well like I said,I won't be selling those pieces and I got tired of using the boxes as end tables to put my mail and keys on.
