My family does. It's amazing how little trash we have we you take plastics out of the garbage.

Yes my aprtment complex recycles in the basement with the trash. So we throw the right stuff in the containers as i leave for work in the mornings.
At work we done, so i just bring the stuff home with me and as i walk up stairs i throw it in the correct containers. Easy to do and not a lot of work.

Ease and lack of inconvenience are major players in success for such efforts.
It would be nice if they also had a toxic pickup day every few months or so to handle old paint and car batterys, used motor oil. That kind of thing.

Our local recycling centre take old batteries etc. Also Europe brought in a recycling fee for electrical manufacturers so if you buy a new washing machine or tv they are obliged to take to old one with them.
