Darkside - Sarah Connor
This piece makes use of the same semi transparent resin as Prime 1 use. The paint work looks sharp.
There are no sloppy paint lines, unlike many Sideshow pieces.
This is one of those pieces i would never sell.
10/10 to Darkside
The photo above is a simple out of the box taken with a 20+ year old snap-shot with no special lighting etc.
Note: The cigarette is missing, as it is in the box.

Tbf it’s easier to approximate the actor’s features when the eyes are covered…

While "good" is subjective in this field of collecting - it's clear, I think, that the bar has been raised in recent years. While Darkside has ridden the wave of pricing increases, they have staunchly resisted updating their products in terms of paint apps or materials.
In the hands of a talented artist, polystone, resin, wood, - hell, even metal can be transformed into a hyper detailed figure.....no matter what the "influencers" suggest - those artists DO NOT work in Chinese factories. The simple fact of the matter seems to be, if you want those more realistic sculpts - while using a Chinese factory for mass production - silicone is the way. As long as Darkside continues to produce using these dated methods - they'll never be a company that I would take seriously......and certainly not at the prices they ask.
Focusing on the aforementioned 1:1 bust - as far as I can read, there's no information officially available about this piece - even related to whether it will even be made - which is typical for Darkside marketing. So, everything is just speculation at this point.

They didn't intend for these photos to be released. They're currently testing different silicone options.

Nope. You have posted a lousy image probably taken using a mobile phone held too close to the head sculpt in poor lighting
It looks better in person. Less tanned.
In my collection i have pieces from Prime 1, XM, Sideshow, Darkside, Weta, Tweeterhead, JND, HMO and a couple of customs.
I know what's what and what i am looking at. In person the Darkside piece i own has a high quality to it.

That's not the most flattering photo, I agree - I can't speak for anyone else - but even though the photo has been taken in less than premium conditions - it's still clear (to me) - that I'm looking at a basic paint job. Look at the eyes, the lips, the painting along the general portrait - it's Sideshow basic, a base colour and some simple shading.....
You might like that, and you might be impressed by it.....I wouldn't want to take away your happiness in that regard.....all, I can say is, I have a different expectation from my movie pieces.
