I love the Darkseid PF as is. I certainly feel it's far better than adequate. It's the perfect 70's/80's interpretation of the character. Not interested in a 1/4 $1200 Darkseid statue. I'm more than happy with what we got. In fact, the only 1/4 DC PF that I don't like is Deathstroker. I think all the other DC PFs look excellent.

My quick thoughts on Thanos -

1) I was never going to order (because I don't collect villains)
2) The hype was high and for an instant, I considered ordering
3) The sellout was quick and even though I knew it was a low ES, it was still a little surprising
4) Now that I've had a couple days to think about it, I'm glad I didn't preorder. Why? First, it is pricey and even through it is highly detailed, I personally wished he was looking straight on and had a left hand that rested on the throne (or that it was in a fist). Second, even though it is large, the height of it is not as large as I thought (it only goes up the the SSC Green Lantern shoulder). On the flip side, his width is impressive although again, I'd have to angle him on my shelf due to the head turn. Finally, he would have probably lead me down the path of collecting villains and my real estate in my collector's room is already getting slim.

In summary, the hype machine almost worked BUT I'm glad I missed the preorder window. With that being said, congrats to the big Thanos fans out there who did secure one of these!

Don't get me wrong, I love some of the villains but I love the heroes more and again, I probably only have room for 16-20 1/4 size figures so I need to be picky.

I respect that but disagree. We don't get PFs of these type of big regal bad guy characters very often. The Darkseid PF deserves to be as impressive as the Thanos PF with the same type of fanfare and company resources Sideshow put into Thanos.

Obviously, this wasn't the case.
