DC CORE - PVC Statue Line from DC Collectibles

For some collectors who are primarily display oriented, comic-based toys can present a bit of a Goldilocks dilemma. Action figures may be too small and have visible articulation breaking up the design, while statues are high-priced and may inspire breakage fears. Into the “just right” gap slides DC Collectibles, with a new line of 9-inch PVC statues that feature top-notch sculpting but, at $50, won’t break the bank…or anything else if the cat happens to knock one off your shelf.

Sculpted by David Pereira, the Joker will kickstart the line in August, followed by Batman in September, and both Wonder Woman and Batgirl in November, to give them some lead time till Christmas. That Wonder Woman, rather than someone like Superman, is the only non-Bat-family character speaks highly of her increased visibility and fan support over the past year.

And check out those bullet ricochet effects on her gauntlets!

$50 for 9 inch statue?

Wonder Woman and Batgirl have my interest then. If these turn out well hope many more come out.

I will see how Joker and Batman turn out before making my decision, but this could be a great series for me.

“Core” sounds like it will be the big 3 and some of the main characters from those 3. If so I’ll pass. I think there are enough Batman, Superman and Wonder Woman statues already. Something different would be nice.

Some interpretations Diana does squats. No issue for me.

I fully expect that for initial run, just hope they expand rather than repeat assuming this continues on past 2020.

I'm not feeling it. I think I'm pretty much done with most of the 1/10 scale PVC stuff. And these don't even look that good.

I really hope they expand outside of their big 3!

There is plenty of interest in their other characters...look at the hype Tweeterhead is generating and we're talking about 300$ statues.

I actually think the Batgirl is one of the better ones I've seen of her. At $50 these are about 30-50% less than what I'd expect from 9 inch. I do want to see some hands on before deciding on buying.

Batgirl is the stand out for me, and then I have a biased view for Wonder Woman.

I completely agree, but I get the idea of being safe to see if there is any market and then getting ambitious. I am really excited about possibilities Tweeterhead offers as well in coming years.
