7/10
Personally, wouldn't rate it higher than any of the original trilogy.

Star Wars: The Force Awakens - A solid 8/10. Maybe 8.5 if I recall the abysmal prequels.

Star Wars: The Force Awakens - 9/10
This is the movie I've been waiting nearly three decades to see. A continuation of an awe inspiring saga that I saw as a kid. The original trilogy took me on an adventure filled with life like creatures I felt I could touch, characters I could connect with, action I'd never seen before, laughter, sweeping epic music, and tears of sadness and joy. Abrams and Disney made sure they brought back the elements that made that all of that possible, and I am not about to fault them for it. Honestly, there should be nothing but celebration for what they've accomplished.
More spoilerific thoughts in the Star Wars Episode VII (The Spoilers Thread).

Chi-Raq (2015) - A modern day adaptation of the ancient Greek play Lysistrata by Aristophanes, set against the backdrop of gang violence in Chicago.
It was goofy--which I suppose is to be expected given the premise. I would have preferred the tone to be more even throughout though. And the rhyming dialogue became tiresome after awhile for me. Imagine a movie where most of the cast spoke like Etrigan the Demon. Yikes. Having said all that, it was nice to see Mad Men alum Teyonah Parris in a starring role. 6/10

Fant-4-stic - 4/10
I'm going to try and be fair here. First off, if you're going to see this hoping to see something resembling the comics, don't go, as you'll be awfully disappointed. The characters, save for the names used, are barely recognizable. Let's face it -- this is a movie that should never have been made... However, if you could delude yourself into thinking this was a "What if" storyline or an Outer Limits episode written by someone desperately hoping to seem clever to superhero-film lovers, then you can see a modicum of merit. It isn't "all" bad as there were a few cool scifi/horror moments... Alas, this film was doomed from the start.
A sequel with these guys would be just as disastrous as the foundation for strong characterization just isn't there.
