eventually these companies will wonder what happened??? It's simple, many collectors are buying much less and getting priced out. Then space is a huge issue. They sell and take a huge loss per statue. The people will buy less hitting these companies hard in due time. This loss of revenue will lead to long term problems as all companies have when they get into trouble. Rising production cost, labor, rent, and statue not moving fast enough. This will leads to discounts, and loss of great artists moving to other companies, and then all kinds of cost cutting will lead to consumers knowing and seeing the differences. We are only seeing warning signs right now. Give it more time and it will only get worse as prices climb each year. It's all about the money for these companies first. This is the grim reality when consumers move on to other hobbies, and get priced out. They change their priorities, and stop buying as much if any at all. I actually hope juggernaut will be 2000.00 plus dollars just so that people will see what we are all talking g about with these new prices affecting the buyers.

Didn't he slow down on buying two? I thought he said he doesn't do it as much anymore back in one thread. he probably has 3-4 house s to put them in. He's a baller! Same as that guy here with the lambo Chris? I dont see him post much anymore. I think he said way back that he sold most of everything before the hobby sunk on prices. But he was still collecting new things like p1 etc. VS may get two or three for the many hot females statues coming. The art looks amazing for the new domino, cat woman, Emma, ww, etc.... definitely next level.

Sometimes I wonder if that will ever happen.

From the very beginning of my collecting 5 years ago, I've continually read how each price rise has led to the end of this hobby, and yet each and every year it still seems to be going strong. At least for manufacturers/retailers, but just not for resellers. Which was never an issue for me as since the very beginning for me it was never really a needed or available option.

My assumption is that those older collectors (who frequent forums such as this) are simply being replaced by collectors who we don't even know exist. Like the numbers are pretty ridiculous on the Facebook groups, and there are probably plenty who don't frequent any social media platforms at all.

It's like people who complain that classical music and cinema are dead or dying. Yet, new classical music pieces are composed every year, and great movies are still being made. I'm certainly glad that I finally got to see an awesome live-action Aquaman movie.

But those don't increase like statue prices every year. If statues were 350.00 I would keep buying 30 a year. Aquaman best movie of 2018!

Might be overgeneralization, but gecco is releasing a 1/6 scale standalone pvc character for 1.2k USD in their latest offering. Normally I would expect outrage from fb users.

But everybdy in that post was excited abt the toy and hardly bat any eyelids in regards to the price. I was so priced out of that segment of the market but apparently there are too many ballers buying their product for gecco to care.

I have read some good arguments from both sides.

Actually it's not the question "Is the Hobby at an all time low?" The question should rather be "Is the Hobby at an all time low for you?"

This would make an interesting poll as long as all collectors that chimed in here would attend

I'd say it ends up 50:50
