If the writing / directing is bad a R rating is not going to save it...

There's just not a lot of good writers in Hollywood anymore, that's why you see so many remakes... I think most of the good writers we do have are doing TV / Streaming services.... a lot of those shows are really good....

Predator was a monster movie pure and simple just with an awesome looking monster.
Once you've seen the monster you've seen it.

.

Added $38 million during the last month.

We're now 2 months after release, and I can't believe that this is still pulling in money

Even though I'm one of the forum Predator nerds, I don't do cinemas so had to wait for the blu ray release of this. I went in with extremely low expectations which was a good idea. The movie is a bit of a mess, and the CGI Predators are tragic and do not belong in a franchise that has always had very good practical suit work. The main story arc was also ridiculous, A predator (who murdered everything that moved) wanted to save humanity from his own kind... Okay.

On the plus side, there were a few enjoyable moments, and some of the characters were actually fairly decent. Also the kid wasn't quite as bad as he could have been in his fairly prominent role. Also, the "fugative" Predator looked better on screen than in the promo images. So this ended up being a very average movie for me. Disappointing for sure, but not as tragic as I feared it may have been. It certainly isn't the big "event" movie they claimed it would be and I'm in no rush to watch it again.

Just putting out there Fox.... John Mctiernan is available and certainly knows how to make a decent action movie.

Looking at the later part of that chart, it seems that Predators (2010) deserved to do better than it did on reflection.

That's overseas though, it only made $51 million domestic which is really poor.... You never know what will tickle the overseas market although $109 million overseas is still pretty bad...

Of all the Predator movies, the only one I liked was the original, I didn't care for any of the remakes... The same with the Alien movies, only the first two were good the rest were meh....

Absolutely. I've watched it multiple times and still enjoy the heck out of it. Not up there with P1 & P2, but still WAY better than the others.

I havn't seen it in a long time, I think I'll make it my next movie when I get the chance. Might even re-visit AVP:R to see if it's as bad as I remember. I think I've only seen it twice. Once at the cinema, and once when it first released on DVD.

AVP:R was a lot better than this, AVP or Predators IMO. Wolf Predator was greatness and it had some moments.

Predator and Predator 2 are still tops by far.

This...... times 100! Wolf predator in this is simply amazing. Yes the filmimg was dark and the human cast was bad, but the badassery of Wolf let me overlook the issues. It left off for more story to be told with humans finally getting a piece of advanced technology.

1. Predator
2. Predator 2
3. AVP:R
4. AVP
5. Predators
6. The Predator
