Great news! David Giraud, the sculptor of the Darth Maul statue, will be interviewed and reviewing this statue on the Shelf Space live stream show this coming Sunday at 2pm EST. Check it out on FB or YouTube! It's rare to have the sculptor review a statue live so this is a really cool treat. Lots of prelim designs will be posted as well as news on past and upcoming projects!

Looks like XM fixed their box issue, just got a shipping notice for Darth Maul, woot!!!

Yup! That area of the styrofoam box should be more fortified now.

Seems XM's solution didn't work, the tail of his costume still broke during shipping even with the extra padding.. I'm waiting to hear back from my contact, hopefully I'm not stuck with it as is....

The tail should of been a separate piece especially since it connects on the backside.. another XM design flaw... It seems this is becoming a common issue with XM, first Storms Hair and Lighting Earrings and now Darth Maul's cape...

They probably should of made his cape parts out of that more rubbery type material they've used on their other statues before.. This part of the statue is just to thin for cold cast porcelain and I imagine it doesn't take much of a jolt to the box for it to break...
