Slow forum?
So if I can ask... since I’ve been away, someone mentioned that the forum has died down a lot since when I was last here. What happened here to slow this place down?

It's not just here. Forums in general have slowed down as social media has ramped up.

I would guess that the rising cost of commissions, pages, covers has lead to a slowdown in the forum. Also a lot of people post to instagram and twitter instead nowadays.
For me it's old reliable laziness, I just haven't posted (almost) anything in roughly three years.

I mostly contribute to the Artist's Experience & Rating Thread which has indeed slowed to a halt otherwise (like most of the forum) which is a shame, it was a great resource, and I've fallen prey to a few thieves lately, a more active resource for consumers would be so helpful.
I miss how announcements for commission availability were frequently made here as well, I'd check every day to make sure I didn't miss someone making an announcement, now (as someone above mentioned) the best place to find that seems to be combing artists instagrams.
If anyone has an 'in' with reps or artists they should mention this forum.

Sup Vaultman!
Ah - interesting. Plus - I'm guessing a lot of previous collectors have slowed down as they've gotten older. I know it's definitely harder for me to go to cons (got some teenagers) so collecting comics even is harder than usual. Especially with the digital versions lately.
Yeah, I've noticed that price hikes by a lot of artists and friends recently as well. They call it "cost of living inflation". ie, their annual raise percentage. I can't blame them personally. But it definitely makes things harder on folks to get these pieces. That's unfortunate. I love art as much as anyone, but shelling our hard earned cash for it is definitely harder lately. (*cough* college *cough*)

PS - does anyone have a good place to sell art? I'm looking to sell one piece. I can't use ebay because I got tired of their "buyers first" policy and even tho my sale said "NO RETURNS" they kept accepting returns and issuing refunds... so I completly quit ebay and their crap BS policies. Any suggestions would be appreciated.
Thanks!
