Thank you...just a hobby..painting for over 50+ years now...this piece needed it...it was the worst painted piece I've ever received from Weta. ..plus it was the most expensive .

Unfortunately, I opened my Thranduil today and immediately noticed a major paint issue. I am going to email Weta but just wanted to post in case someone here encountered same. I am pretty sure I know why this occurred, whoever did the paint job did not let it settle. Look at the cape, the entire black paint is spread.
I can see the paint spread on the white paper wrap the statue was in, this is an easy QC issue that can be resolved if they let the paint sit for longer or apply more coats. I am no expert but I suspect that is the problem.

Go over the entire piece and look for spots where there's too much paint, missing paint or scraped off paint..take photos

Wasn't interested in this one and did not purchase, but I wouldn't be happy with the job on the face. The missing nostrils is particularly bad

Well I got a response, have to destroy the statue to get the refund.
First time have to do this and have mixed feelings about it

I get mine today and i´m very happy with it.
Don´t know why so many people are disappointed.
Yes he is little bit expensive but witch statue is it not these days..
