That would look great. It'll probably be hard to find a saber hilt at that scale (1/6 would be easier) but I hope you do. Post pictures if track one down!
@GaryTonge. Agreed. The pose definitely isn't stupid (brilliant actually.) For me, it might just be a case of it having one ideal viewing angle in execution. The head-turning function makes up for that a little though.

Your opinion. You seem to follow this thread pretty closely for someone who's not interested in this statue.

It's because I am in denial. I want a good Vader statue and I keep thinking I can get past the silly pose. Alas, every time I see it I can't bring myself to pull the trigger.

I was the same as you... But the dark side overtook me. Haha!

I really like the pose. I'm really not understanding what people don't like about it. Vader isn't a really dynamic character. He's a big machine. Did people want him doing backflips? Are people upset he isn't standing with his hands on his belt again.
I'm curious what the problem is.
He's like a huge machine monster who's set his gaze on his target from across the room. He ignites his blade as he slowly makes his way towards you. Taking his time as he does. One hand on the blade displaying his confidence that he'll slice you up with minimal effort. Not sure what's lame about this.

Is it an iconic Vader, no, but I like it enough and plan on picking it up. I usually get pieces from a local dealer for 20% below retail, no tax, no shipping, so I am comfortable paying that considering I don't own a large scale Vader.

I would have liked a switch out right hand with maybe just a fist and a deactivated saber for his belt.

The problems with the pose have been posted ad nauseum. The problem isn't that he isn't dynamic enough, it's simply that he looks awkward. It's difficult to pinpoint one area that went wrong, but it looks like it's the combination of the puffed up chest, head tilting up, and not knowing if he is going up or down those steps. He just doesn't look imposing.
