I will stick with the 1:4 statue which cost $250 then buying a HT 1:6 for $200.

I got to see the movie before I commit to any other product...the statues will suffice enough for now.

somewhat after HT announcing they will have the sucker punch girls, I might regret preordering the statue. Price difference is quite huge too...
I got 300 usd each for the statue, and I'm pretty sure that the hot toys will only cost me around 120-140 usd.

It will probably do OK, and the studio is probably hoping for a pleasant surprise like 300 did. If anything, if this movie doesn't do that great in the theaters, I think it will have a second life on DVD/Blu-ray. And with unique story and visuals, I can see this movie as developing a cult following in the long run. Sometimes it is better not to release during the summer and get lost in the all the hoopla.

Action, special f/x, hot chicks, and no plot spell blockbuster for the comic geek.

I'd rather pay $200 for the Hot Toys figures.
Why....because we all know that Hot Toys has a way better reputation for their portraits actually resembling the characters. GG, not even close. So it all depends on what is more important to you, a 1/4 scale statue that most likely will not resemble the character or a 1/6 figure that will. Size vs. Accuracy
I have a couple of the GG 1/4 scale statues on pre-order, but I think I am going to cancel them, especially if HT is going to do them. I don't think these are going to be as hard to find as everyone originally thought. There are also other statues that I would rather invest in. There are two major things playing against these GG statues...the movie could be a flop and GG's quality.
IMO

I disagree. Not all Hot Toys figures are accurate as you mentioned.
Like Sarah Connor or the Black Widow they were not so accurate.
But...we will wait and see how Hot Toys made the Sucker Punch figures.

If the likeness of a character is one of the biggest contributing factors into your purchase not pre-ordering and waiting for in hand pics before committing to a purchase is probably the best way to go regardless if its a HT or GG product. Both companies has and will continue to have their share of misses in this department.
