I went to a general store. They wouldn't let me buy anything specifically.

Apparently Amazon.co.uk cancelled lots of orders, and they are now selling it at full price!

According to people posting 1 star reviews over there. They say the item was showing as in stock, and 3 days later Amazon have cancelled all their orders.

And iPADs are anything more than a brick?

$99.00 is a good starting point for someone to decide if a tablet is for them. I made the $599.00 mistake thinking an iPAD2 was anything more than another portable way to watch movies, play lame games, and surf the internet (with a crap browser no less).

I also made the mistake of buying a netbook when they first came out. Now it sits in it's bag collecting dust.

The Amazon prices are from more than likely from private sellers.

The new price is set and outside of a few knuckleheads who are bidding 'em up on eBaY, the sales are pretty much dead in the water for thos expecting more than the reduced price.

Everyone who has the make offer option on the 'BaY are getting $99.00 and $149.00 best offers from me.

while i would have no other use for one then just to watch movies, roam the net with it. i can't see spending more then $99 for one, and the ebay people are buying it for close to original prices.

Sad thing is its discontinued and they won't be updating or supporting it anymore.

I've installed a flip-down holder on my son's bottom bunk bed just so they can use the ipad as a digital book before going to bed.
And as for my netbook, can't seem to remember what model or where or when was the last time i've use it

Very resourceful. Mine is actually good as a comic reader and the book app is decent too.

Nothing's wrong with a netbook if you get one with good specs and high build quality. I got a deal on a business HP one almost fully upgraded. I'll put on Win7 and the RAM upgrade and it will be perfect for quick stuff. Better than a tablet at least for me.

I can't believe HP didn't give WebOS more time. They essentially wasted billions for nothing. Even Nokia is still upgrading their soon to be dead Symbian OS.

If you are in the neighborhood B&H in NYC(34th St & 9th Ave) has them in stock right now. Better hurry though because they are going fast.
