I find it hard to believe that it's an urban myth. Marvel has to sign off on licensed products. And there and plenty of x-men licensed stuff they can do other than hot toys. Why would Fox not pursue other revenue streams? They could do Fatheads, funko pops, t-shirts, etc. but we see none of it.
