I bet this Cap that died was really one of the Skrulls that was trapped on Earth as a Cow. The real Cap will come out of the local pub with Thor (both a little tipsy).

There was a mini out a few years ago called 'Skrull Kill Crew' or something very similar. It was kind of a Ghostbusters like group that had this mad on for killing Skrulls. I think that most of those Skrulls were killed in that comic. It was a fun read, especially if you enjoyed seeing the Skrulls getting their you know whats kicked.

We'll still need some time for Tony to realize the error of his ways, put on the Cap suit himself, bring down the corruption he'll discover as head of SHIELD and reverse the entire registration act by next Spring. Cap will resurface just as Tony strips the red, white and blue suit off. Job welll done.

My guess is that Fury has something to do with this. He's been absent from the MU for far too long...

An idea just came to me. Someone mentioned the Life Model Decoys like Fury uses as a possibility. But what about the ones that Tony and Reed put together like Thor? A Captain America "clone" was shown in one of the Civil War issues. Maybe Tony has substituted one of these for Steve, he always wanted him to just register and let it all go.
