It was 2006 and I was getting tired of collecting Spawn and Anime figures so I though I would do a search for some Superhero statues like Wolverine and Batman. I remember doing a google image search and stumbling upon an image of this statue, I was immediately obsessed with it and bought it soon after. That is also how I found the best forum I have been privileged to be a part of . This one.
I sold it a few years later when Randy Bowen started re releasing popular statues as Faux Bronze variants,I got really pissed off and sold all my bowens including this. I never re buy statues I have once owned ,but I made an exception with this one. I mainly collect 1/4 scale now but I think this statue needs to be on it's own, either in a study or placed on a book shelf. I always get a calm feeling when I looked at this statue. Most of wolverine statues celebrate his berserker side, this on the other hand shows his contemplative side probably just after finishing a hunt,he seems at peace which is why I have always been drawn to this statue. So glad to have reacquired it, sculpted by Ray Villafane for Bowen studios 2004!
I got this Bowen Designs mini-statue of "Flakey Foont", a Robert Crumb comic character. Sculpted by Randy Bowen and Neil Surges with art direction by Robert and Jesse Crumb:
