Castlevania figure/statue

Neca has released a first look at Castlevania's Simon Belmont in progress. They are still refining detail and adding articulation.

I found the above info on another forum (Collectiblez.nl - kudos to Slootdanser), he says it's a figure but I was hoping it's a statue. Has Neca ever made any statues before?

Before you criticize someone, you should walk a mile in their shoes. That way, when you criticize them, you're a mile away and you have their shoes.

Then doesnt this look more like it'll be a statue than a figure?

Looks like he'll be holding his whip in his right hand.

In this case I wouldnt mind if the base came with a "Castlevania" nametag...he could easely be mistaken for some random barbarian character otherwise.

If I'm correct, I believe there's a strong chance it'll be both. Often times NECA creates a limited number of statues from the original sculpts for their action figures. With most figures, the original is sculpted in a larger scale, then the mold is scaled down for the figures.

Not saying that's what will happen with this figure, but it's a possibility.

Agreed! One of the greatest video game series of all time!

I completely forgot this was the outfit he had on the box art.
Never really imagined he was wearing that in the actual game.
