I went with the version in which you get all the DLC.

I noticed with MK there was obviously the XL edition which you get all the DLC but that came out WAY later... like a year or so after the final DLC. So it depends on how patient you are. I also noticed that the digital DLC never went on sale individually. So if you know you will want the 9 DLC characters and want them as they are released, just spring for the special edition or whatever it's called. That way you know you have already looked after everything.

There's a 2 hour livestream by Netherrealm in 2hrs 15ish, I think they'll be officially announcing Joker today plus some of the new modes.

Having difficulty deciding on which version to buy - I want all the 9 DLC characters, and the cheapest in the UK is £75 at the moment, or I could get the base version for £35 from Amazon, then buy the add on pack (which I assume they will do similar to Mortal Kombat XL) later on - I doubt they'll make it more than the cost of the game itself, so it should still work out cheaper than the full ultimate edition?

Which characters are the ones that are ONLY included in the Special Edition?

Here in the U.S. that version is $99, which is ridiculous for a fighting game.

You get 9 characters plus costume packs for that though. The base roster is already 30+ so it's actually a good deal unless you plan on only buying select DLC characters one at a time.

That's the rub, I don't believe they've officially announced who the 9 dlc characters will be yet.

There are 3 versions from what I can see, the standard just includes Darkseid (who looks amazing in the latest trailers!), the deluxe has 3 of the dlc characters, plus 1 premier skin for Supergirl (Power Girl).

THEN the Ultimate version has the 9 mystery DLC characters, 3 premier skins (Reverse Flash, John Stewart and Power Girl) and then a couple of unique skin shaders.

What might be annoying is you pay for the ultimate, and there is still DLC (like premier skins) that you will have to pay on top, that's just crazy when you are paying double the price of a regular game for the ultimate version.

don't know why you guys are so shocked, these days games cost like 300+ by the time its at the end of its life span if you buy the CE editions and all the DLC.

but the game is look ing amazing, def a game I'm sure i can watch streamed for tourneys. I really want to see Reverse flash and Power Girl in action tho.

Nothing in stone, but Spawn is almost a guarantee since they haven't used the rights yet and he never made it into MKX. Red Hood and Beast Boy were also being mentioned a lot via NRS tweets.

The thing is though, at least in my experience, people will either buy 1 character, or all of them. MKX for example, Predator was a huge single selling character, but anyone who purchased the MK characters as they released bought all of them. Again just me speaking, but I've never seen someone buy something like 3 of 6 characters. If you like the game you usually get all of them, and if you don't like the game you get none. Just my 2 cents.

I ordered it on Amazon. Ended up with a Prime discount and got the Ultimate Edition for $79.99 plus tax.

All the videos I'm watching are predicting Starfire and Star Sapphire for the female DLC. I think those two would be amazing!
