Blitzway no longer shipping internationally

This is the latest notice on Blitzway's site. They are cancelling international orders due to rising shipping costs. It sounds like this only affects those who ordered directly from Blitzway, so I guess if you ordered from wholesalers like SpecFiction, you are safe.

NOTICE OF ORDER CANCELLATION

We are very sorry to inform you that we have to cancel your order due to drastic increase in shipping fees. We no longer to send products to overseas except some Asian countries, like China, Hongkong, Macau and Taiwan.

We tried our best to deliver goods at the cheapest rate as possible as we can for our clients.

However, EMS’ policy to change their shipping cost standard from only weight to volume weight and almost three times drastic increase in shipping fees due to the reduced number of available flights.

We will refund the whole amount of your deposit and recommend you to purchase this product from your local dealer.
Please contact csteam@blitzway.com , if you cannot find any dealer, and we will find a way.

We again apologize for this inconvenience.

That makes a lot of sense now why my packages from AmiAmi were showing 66 pounds on the ship weight so they must assume some kind of average weight for boxes based on volume now. Bummer

Another nail in the coffin of large-sized collectibles. Costly shipping has had a drastic impact on sales, nevermind resales.

they'll be fine with buyers in their local regions... it's a blow for sure but there's plenty of big markets in other parts of the country.

I finally got an email from Blitzway last night saying they cancelled my order for Marilyn and refunded my deposit. I went ahead and ordered her from SpecFiction.

To be honest, if this leads to companies making more "conservative" statue bases - in my opinion, I'm all for this situation.

I know some people like those more intricate bases (e.g. P1) but I always feel they detract from the centre piece and ADD unnecessary cost to the sales price and the shipping price.

If the global shipping prices force these companies to tone down this trend - well, thank God.
