How to give skin a finished look?

I'm almost done painting a 1/6 resin statue, and while I'm happy with the skin tone, it is VERY flat. How can I give it a more realistic sheen? I'm afraid DullCote would add to the problem, but I fear Future/Pledge will be too glossy. Any advice? Possibly with pictures?

Any help is greatly appreciated!

Different applications give a different texture. Airbrushing gives a flatter look than brushing. Jesse sells a flat top coat for airbrushes that works well. I use Testor's too, but make sure you shake it well between each application.

I actually prefer a flatter look. Skin and cloth are not suppose to have a shine to it.

if you wanted a sheen to skin, you can use future floor polish just spray far away like 12 inches, dont over spray and its more like misting it. Then with Garagekit flat top coat like C Bormann said that can dull it down but still have a sheen look thats not glossy.

How about semi-gloss?
