Rock Band is awesome...get some friends over and jam.

Tons of fun.

I prefer it over GH3 for sure (even though it is great too).

Hey DD, I have both, last night me and my GF beat RB on medium, and compared to GH3 this is much easier to play. On GH3 I am hit and miss down the list with 3-5 stars on each song, but on RB I zipped through on Med with 95 and up %.
Both are fun and having both give you a wide variey of music. My GF got me the PS2 for christmas and all the GH games and the rock band game also.

With the PS2 I use the same guitar,if your learning I would start with RB or GH1&2 combo pack. GH3 is just a bit harder and after you get used to playing it can be puchased seperatly.
I am speaking this way as I have not tried the Drums, I guess it depends on which controller you want use.
I got everything sold seperatly and didn't buy a set, Just got a guitar and then whichever game you want to get.

My nephew got one of these for Christmas, and it looks incredibly cool, especially if more than one person plays at the same time.

sounds like fun. I think I will get GH2 (or GH 1/2 combo) and a couple of guitars for now.
