On the HFA site, it says this was done by Alex Ross but in examining the piece, nowhere on it is credit given to him. It's called lithofilm...basically, the lithographic process done on film. Another nice, affordable piece (every now and then I actually have to buy some less expensive investments...LOL!!!)

That Ross piece is called "Knight over Gotham" and I've got an A/P hanging with my statues. It's hard to say whether this is my favorite or the Ross "Original Seven". Both are fantastic works of art.

I prefer "Original Seven", but "Knight" is amazing stuff, too. I used to have "Knight" but traded it--more a Superman fan than a Batman fan. (The Batman Mythology--also a great piece--is actually my least favorite of the three--now four--Mythology pieces...)

Anyway, great pickups for you, Bobby. Enjoy them!!!

The Knight Over Gotham piece is my favorite even over the Original Seven. And if you think this one is fantastic see if you can get your hands, or more realistically your eyes, on the canvas version. It is beyond spectacular. Only 25 of the canvases exist and they are the most sought after of all canvases. They can fetch anywhere between $4,000-$7,000 and that's if you can find one. Extremely rare and I passed on a chance to own one at retail because at the time I had (and still have) the paper version.

Thanks to all! I actually have the Original Seven Paper Giclee (One of the few I prefer over the canvas piece) and the In The Light of Justice Canvas. Knight Over Gotham is the only one I wish I had in canvas, but that will probably never happen since you don't see those floating around.

Don't know if you saw my post two up from this one. If you ever do run into one it will set you back some serious coin.

So is that Batman over Gotham a lithograph or is it technically called a giclee?

And what is the difference between the two? All i have known is litho or canvas
