Love the paints.... they are very similar to the SS Alien King actually, with the bluish greens and oranges. I wasn't even considering this at first, but seeing it painted I have to rethink that.

The XM Studios green paint app reminds me of -
HOLLYWOOD COLLECTIBLES GROUP - EXCLUSIVE 1:4 SCALE SPECIES STATUE

This could have been a good piece if HCG had got the portrait right.

Interestingly enough while I still think the sculpt is a masterpiece and I was looking forward to seeing this completed, I am not sure why I am not feeling the paint work...although it seems like a very complex paint job, something about it gives a bit of a garage kit feel...I just can't put my finger on it.

The switch out isn't a big chap head. This looks quite nice over all, but I doubt I'd buy it unless it was surprisingly cheap.

I wanted this until I saw the Batman Diorama. All my $$$'s going to that piece. I'll have to wait and see what P1 is offering.

Also interested in Mamegyorai's sneezing Big Chap. Can't stop looking at the detail.

Snap! I love it, but that price is making it a hard sell...

I'm already sold on it, just procrastinating. My concern is that it's a new company and after the Matrix Studio fiasco(s) I don't want to be placed in that situation again.

I haven't found any of the Big Chap's appealing including SS's old guard. When I think Alien (1st) I think of a slow moving, puppeteerish, actor in a suit. The scene where it's top half is shot moving weirdly towards Veronica Cartwright. That's my Alien. Plus if it gets me looks from visitors it's win, win. There's about 10 different things I could say to people what he's doing in that pose.

Who said it was the cat from the movie? I don't know who that cat is....lol.

This is without question just a magnificent statue no matter what license it is. Arguably my absolute favorite statue at STGCC. This may actually be the best statue XM has done to date. The paint up for myself is masterfully done.

I will say the Alien could stand to be painted a tad darker or the base painted a little brighter so they stand out from one another. Other than that...this is

I told everyone I thought this was better than the Predator..and I think the Predator is one of XM greatest pieces (done of course by master Predator / Alien sculptor Narin). I stand by what I said several months ago and will not waver on this one iota!

Just had a phone call with the orange cat from Alien, he is going to pursue XM for copyrights

To be serious, I agree with you, I would paint the base a little brighter.
