I'd like to see Kevin Smith's take on this as well.

That would be fun, though frustrating to wait until 2018 for it to be finished.

Probably the best writer in comics. Agree.

I wonder how Ed Brubaker would handle it...

He's got writing history with both character, bet that would be great.
Or a Captain America/Batman crossover........

I agree with the sentiment that 25 years ago it would have been magic. Miller is just too out there in recent years. DK2 was one of the worst stories I have ever read and his penchant for writing brutality, particularly towards women, puts me off to say the least.

Based on Miller's recent output, the story would involve the two of them teaming up to beat up terrorists and have a threesome with Catwoman. No thanks.
But I would like to see any of the other writers mentioned here tackle the concept. Maybe Bendis too. I don't know what his Batman would sound like, but it could be interesting.
Really, it would just be nice if Marvel and DC would learn to get along and actually collaborate on these crossovers again.

Just reposting this for people focused on Miller's recent (admittedly horrible) output.

If a completed Miller Batman/DD crossover from 1988/1989 was found and released, it would easily be the top seller of the year. It would be fantastic, but I don't know if it could possibly live up to the expectations most of us would have. I know I would buy it, but then I bought Holy Terror.
