I wish we could get an idea of the prices of these pieces. I'm under no illusions that they'll be somehow "affordable"....but with the recent price hikes, and the pricing strategies of the (so called) premium statue companies, it would be interesting to see how far off we are with our mass produced products vs these one of a kind, works of art.
Prices are often ' on request ", but I'll give prices when those are available.

FOR REAL ?

SAM JINKS
is renowned for his uncannily lifelike sculptures alluding to the transitory nature of life. With no formal art training, Jinks began making sculptural works out of silicone and latex as a teenager, perfecting the process while working in the film industry before he spent a number of years working as a studio assistant for Patricia Piccinini. The Deposition (2017), in which a naked man crouches at his mother's feet, is an example of the biblical imagery that frequently appears in his work. Jinks models his figures in clay before casting them and coating them in silicone. They are given their eerie humanity by being colored in flesh tones, tufted with real human hair, and dressed in clothes often made by Jinks' mother.

RENAISSANCE 2.0

GERARD MAS

A part of his work evokes Florentine portraits of the 15th century. His craft skills applied with a humor that can only be contemporary ( chewing gum, lollypop, phone etc ). Gerard Mas reminds us that having talent and skills doesn't mean you have to take yourself too seriously.
The work of Gerard Mas is characterized by a formal preciosity and perfection in the execution of the project on alabaster, marble or resin for mini-series, where the colors and realistic forms make us discover in classical characters some surprisingly anachronistic attitudes.

Little information about this discreet Japanese artist born in 1985. But discretion rhymes here with talent. His favorite material is wood.

THE BEAUTY AND THE BEAST

NIKICHI (Akihiko Yoshida)

Japanese wood carving artist Akihiko Yoshida, who identifies himself as Nikichi on Instagram and other social media platforms, is a master at carving oh-so-cute animals. His touch is so delicate that his wood creations appear like fluffy soft toys!

For the past nine years, Nikichi has developed his unique wood carving technique and is always on the lookout for new and original ideas. His subjects generally revolve around animals and he portrays them in all their moods and expressions. He endeavors to create a mythical world through his creations, catering to the instincts and tastes of his wild animals.
