Pretty sure ikea has a pax wardrobe and sliding door bundle for cheaper
http://m.ikea.com/us/en/catalog/prod.../spr/59931463/

And some shelves

Pick the size and color you want. Remove smoked glass and metal supports and get custom acrylic.

Great snadinator because eventually were going to get the compatible pax doors and just be done! Unless i find them cheaper than $300 down the road!

Cheaper??? Thats over $600 thats not cheaper and if you buy separately you save over $100 ?? Unless im missing something but the pax unit im buying is $190 and the sliding doors is $310 which makes $500 even!!

I wish i could find an entire unit cheaper with the doors but i just dont see it on their website! Im giong to talk to ikea reps when i get to cincinatti on saturday!!

Thanks though,

Sarah

They are made for the PAX wardrobes, and they give off a warm, even light. Very similar to what you would see in a museum display.

To connect them you would need to purchase these: http://www.ikea.com/ca/en/catalog/products/40119926/ and one of these http://www.ikea.com/ca/en/catalog/products/30121411/

I apologize that they're all from the Canadian store, but you get the idea.
Do you need to purchase a Intermediate cord for each light?

EDIT: N/M just read the instructions, I'll need 5 cords for 6 lights...

Basically it's a daisy chain, meaning you need one intermediate cord between each light, so if you buy 3 lights you need 2 cords, if you buy 7 lights you need 6 cords.

Then the power cord plugs into the last light in the chain.

I imagine you'll need a light for each display shelf, so if there are 8 shelves you'll need 8 lights, 7 intermediate cords and 1 power cord.

With my setup, I have four shelves, and a total of six lights.

If you are displaying Premium Formats, I think you will find this is the best route. You may be able to squeeze in an extra shelf on each side, but it will be extremely cramped.

Sarah,

I found this while browsing: http://www.ikea.com/us/en/catalog/pr...266/#/90250264

It's the skeleton of the doors, without the panels. All you would need is custom acrylic or glass, and then you're good to go.

Really depends on the type of statues your going to show, it says it's 93" tall (outside dimensions), figure the top and bottom piece of wood is 1" thick, so you lose 2" there and then the thickness of the shelves are 3/4" ea.

so 91" - 3/4" for each shelf that you use.

So you could go with 30"-30"-29", that would give you six boxes to display your statues (so 4 shelves total), now most PF's are only around 22"-24" tall so that can leave 6"-8" gap above the statues which will help them from looking crammed in there... plus it allows you to put really tall PF's in there like Gladiator Hulk or Red Sonja

Now to get the most out of it, you could go 25"-25"-25"-13" which gives you eight boxes to display your stuff in (so 6 shelves total) you could use the 13" shelf for Hot Toys or Bishoujo's. Of course a lot of this depends on the spacing of the holes where the shelves fit in so those dimensions could vary.

I think if you went with three shelves on each side, you would have issues viewing the statues due to the depth of the unit.

Also, the distance from the floor to the first display area is about 3 inches.
