Is Sideshow still making Comiquettes?
Am looking into purchasing some of the old Sideshow Female X-men Comiquettes. Magik’s my first and I might get Rogue next. Anyone have any recommendations? Which one is your favorite? Which one should I avoid? The only one to me that is not aesthetically pleasing is Storm although the Black Queen doesn’t make me think Jean Grey.
But mainly, I was wondering if comiquettes are now a dying breed? I love comiquettes for their approximately 1/5 scale format which would display nicely with my other 1/6 statues.

Don't think they're making Comiquettes anymore.

SS is making plenty of 1/5 scale statues. They’re just not calling them comiquettes anymore

True. They looked a little too cartoony for my taste. Read somewhere that comiquettes are generally a depiction of an artist’s artwork. Whose artwork were the Avengers assemble line drawn from?

I personally wonder if it’s a profit thing. Obviously they can charge a higher premium for more elaborate larger statues.

1:5 are categorised by Sideshow as a "statue" now and then there's "premium format" for 1:4 and "maquette" for 1:4 and other liberties with size.
Other manufacturers various scale statues are also categorised as statue on the website.
I hate 1:5, I can't see the point and sideshow abandons every line they start in this scale.

Makes sense. Hopefully non-mixed media as well. Hoping for more X-series artist series statues next year.

Why do you hate 1:5? It’s bigger than 1:6 while still displaying well alongside them and without having to deal with the price and real state of 1:4 statues. I also like how 1:5 classically meant poly stone and no mixed media.
